SEC Computer Learning Center

From the June 1999 issue of the I/O Port Newsletter

The Sanctuary Evangelistic Church (SEC) is very excited to announce the "grand opening" of the SEC Computer Learning Center Lab in May. It is the vision of SEC to provide computer access and training to church members and the community. However, this vision had not been realized until recently with the donation of computers from two local companies and Tulsa Computer Society (TCS) Refurbishing Group. TCS graciously donated a 386 CPU, 486 CPU, and a complete 286 computer with typing software loaded.

We currently have six operational computers with Windows 3.1 and various other software including Word 6.0, Excel, and PowerPoint 5.0. We have two 486 PC's that will be used during the day to train children from our church's Nana's House Learning Center. These 4 and 5 yr. olds will learn basic computer skills and use pre-school software to learn colors, numbers, etc. We believe in teaching and training at an early age. In the evenings, adults and kids will have access to the SEC Learning Center Computer lab for homework, papers, etc. or computer exposure. We have volunteers that will monitor the lab and provide assistance if needed.

Ultimately, we would like to provide Windows 95, Word 97, Excel 97 and Access 97 training. However, we need a minimum of six 486 or Pentium PC's. If you have any computers, monitors, mice, keyboards, software, etc. you would like to donate, please contact Charlotte Manning at 587-6445 or email at cmanning@ci.tulsa.ok.us. Help us educate the community. All donations are tax deductible.

Pastor Milford and Evelyn Carter are the Senior Pastors of Sanctuary Evangelistic Church
